It is with great pride and heartfelt appreciation that I welcome you all to the 101st season of the Newport Bowls Club.

Last season, my first as President, we celebrated 100 years of camaraderie, competition, and community, which as mentioned last year is a rare and remarkable achievement that not all sporting clubs achieve. This milestone stood as a testament to the dedication of generations past and present who have built, supported, and loved this club. As we reflect on our past and present, we also have one eye on the future, and what the next 100 years look like for our great club. It is more important than ever that we recognise the strengths and opportunities that exist for our bowls club in our community.

We have some of the best grass greens in Melbourne and we are located right next to the train station with ample car parking. We are proudly not financed through Pokies and we are open to all bowlers of all abilities. We are lucky to have facilities that allow us to operate as a bar and bistro, as well as host various functions & events thanks to our space, stage and sound system. Seizing on opportunities by using our strengths will ensure our future is bright on and off the greens for many years to come!

Thank you for being part of this incredible journey. Here’s to another season to remember, let’s go Newport!
